Do you want to win a copy of my book ?

I'm participating in the Global Animal Blogging Event organised by Twinkietinydog and I'm giving away a copy of my new book "Follow Bella's pawsteps to happiness" to one lucky reader of my blog. To be eligible, all you have to do is post comments on my blog between the 1st and 18th of April and on the 19th, I will draw the winner - the more comments you post, the more chances you have of winning - good luck !
Check out the other blogs that are participating in the event, because they will be giving away prizes too; it's a really great opportunity to discover more animal blogs, I wonder whether there are any lizard blogs out there (my sister Amelie loves lizards) !

I've been tagged by Rocky Street, Snowy and Crystal, and Minnie.
The Rule of the game is to open your first photo folder, post the 10th photo and the story behind it and then tag 5 or more friends to play!
So here it is, it's a photo I sent to my friends Derby and Julep to tell them how much I love their blog :

I'd love to be a bee !

I love flowers so much, I dream of being a bee so I can enjoy them all the time, so Mum found me this some wings, all I have to do now is learn how to fly !

Dad told me bees work very hard collecting pollen from flowers and making beautiful honey and he's very grateful because he loves honey ! However, I think I'll leave all this hard work to the bees...

I want to be rock star !

I love rock music and I think some of the outfits rock stars wear are really cool, so Mum found me a really nice outfit, and now here I am, ready to rock 'n roll !

Dad thinks I may need some piano lessons before I can sell a million records

After all this excitment, I really need a rest; on second thoughts I don't know if the rock star life is for me...

Little Red Riding Westie

Once upon a time, there was a little Westie who lived in a town near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little Westie wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the town called her Little Red Riding Westie. One morning, Little Red Riding Westie asked her mother if she could go to visit her grandmother as it had been awhile since they'd seen each other.
"That's a good idea," her mother said. So they packed a nice basket for Little Red Riding Westie to take to her grandmother, with some jam and bread.

On her way to her grandmother's house, Little Red Riding Westie felt hungry, so she stopped and started eating the jam. The jam was so delicious, she ate the whole jar.

When she realised there was no jam for her grandmother, Little Red Riding Westie was worried : "What will grandmother do if she doesn't have any jam to put on her bread ?", she thought to herself, feeling quite sad....

Then came along her good friend Rex, and she told him all about her troubles. "Don't worry, said Rex, I know where you can find some nice jam; come with me and I'll put some jam in the jar for you to bring to your grandmother"

Little Red Riding Westie was so hapy, she gave Rex her spare red coat so they could both go to see her grandmother with a red coat, and she let Rex give her a kiss, which he'd been wanting to do for a long time, because you know boys and girls, Rex was in love in Little Red Riding Westie...

And they lived happily ever after...

Guess who's coming to my tea party !

Yesterday, I sent some invitations for a tea party; I wanted to look my best and found a nice tea set.

You know how much I love teddy bears, so I invited Brownie and Pepita; they were delighted to come to a tea party !

Mum made us some really nice tea, I love it !

Oops, I dropped some sugar on the table, I better clean up; my tongue is more efficient than any sponge, besides I don't want to waste anything !

My new outfit

Mum found me this lovely outfit; I really like it, especially the hat. Dad said I look like a little maid, but I'm not keen on being one, it sounds too much like hard work to me - remember my experience with house work ? You know the saying "Clothes don't make the dog" - I think I'll just keep the outfit, thank you very much

I'd like to introduce my lovely aunt Belle; here she is with my Grandfather who's carrying her because she doesn't want to walk. Grand-dad says that all his neighbours laugh when they see him carrying Belle in the street ! I've told her that no matter matter how old you are (she's 10), walking is good for you.

Dressing up for a car trip

Yesterday, Mum and dad were at home so they decided to pick up Amelie at the kindergarten where she works and they took me along so I could meet some of her colleagues and say hello to the children she looks after all day (she says some of them are naughtier than puppies, but others are as cute as puppies !).
Lucky they took me along because Dad got lost and I soon put him on the right track :

Here I am with Mum and Amelie; I dressed up for the occasion, it's not every day I go to Amelie's work !

On the way back, I gave Amelie a driving lesson; she's going for her licence next month, so I thought I better give her a few tips :

I'd like to show you Mum's latest creations, some beautiful bird pendants, I wish I could have one !

And finally, I'd like to welcome all my new friends, I'm very happy to know all of you; my lovely friends Martha and Bailey posted a photo I sent them and then their friends came to see my blog : go check it out if you haven't seen it yet. Thanks Martha and Bailey !

I love you all, have a great week-end !

I love Teddy Bears

We all love teddy bears in my family, and I'm no exception - I think cuddling a teddy bear is really good.

Mum found me some teddy bear ears so I can look just like a teddy - look at this, I bet you can't tell which one is me !

Mum showed me some photos of her favourite teddy bears that she did with Dad, a long time ago ... before they had any children - it looks like those teddies had some really good adventures too !

A little update

Last night I saw two grown up possums in the garden; I think they were the parents of the little baby I rescued, so I barked to tell them "your baby is being looked after, but why did you leave it on its own, it may not have survived if I hadn't found him !". Then they had a fight, they sounded like two cats, I think they were arguing about who was supposed to look after the baby. The emergency vet told Mum they would release it back in the same area so it might find its parents again.
I forgot to tell you something about my art modeling : after taking the photos, Dad gave me a huge chunk of the baguette, it's home made and tasted yummy !

I'd love to be an artist's model !

I love art and I'm sad I can't visit museums, but I'd love to be an artist's model, that would be so much fun.
Dad said that if Salvador Dali was still alive, he would certainly use me as a model - what do you think ?

This is the original, it's titled "Retrospective Bust of a Woman" and it's at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York.

Last year it was at the "Liquid Desire" exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and Mum, Dad, Amelie, Anais and Matthew went to see it (I wish I was as small as a chihuahua so that Mum could have hidden me in her bag !)

Did you know that when this work was exhibited in 1933, Pablo Picasso's dog ate the bread baguette ? I think it's really cool that he made his mark on the world of art; after all, with a Dad like Picasso he must have been keen to try his paw at painting ! Here he is with his Dad, his name is Lump :

To the rescue !

Yesterday, I was enjoying a beautiful day in the garden, when I heard something move in the bushes so I ran as fast as I could and barked as loud as I could.

It was a beautiful baby possum who had lost its Mum, it was so cute.
Mum and Amelie covered it and gave it something to drink; they called wildlife animal rescue who told them to bring it to the emergency vet so that it could find a carer.

Mum said it was thanks to me that the possum was saved, because it wouldn't have survived very long. Possums are marsupials like kangaroos and koalas, the babies grow up in their mother's pouch, so this one must have fallen out of the pouch ! I'm glad I contributed to this rescue and I hope he's doing well now, but its Mum must be worried that she lost her baby, unless something happened to her...
