Happiness grows when you share it

We love sharing our happiness and today we went to a retirement home to give some copies of our book "Paw Steps to Happiness".
The ladies enjoyed it very much and while I was sniffing around, Ollie was cuddled by everyone !

We have given so many copies of our book that we have nearly run out, so if you want one, you'll have to be quick !

We will be on vacation from the 3rd of January to the 13th of January at Skenes Creek, which is on the Great Ocean Road, one of the most beautiful places in Victoria.
We will be in a big house near the beach and I hear the beaches and the little towns like Appollo Bay are dog friendly.
We're very excited and we will tell you all about our vacation !

Dad has been playing with his new photographic toy he got for Christmas (a light tent) and he asked us if he could put some of the photos he took with it on our blog, so we said yes because it makes him happy !

We've had a wonderful Christmas !

Mum found me this T-shirt that says "Dear Santa, I don't have to be good... I'm cute."
but what happens if I'm good and cute, do I get twice the presents ?

The T-shirt fits Bella really well !

Santa, if you need more reindeers to pull your sleigh, we can help !

Hey Ollie, I just thought about how Santa manages to get to all these places during Christmas night

Tell me Bella !

When it's midnight here in Australia, it's the morning of the day before in the USA so Santa has plenty of time to distribute the presents here and in other countries before it's Midnight in the USA...

We're ready now !

The morning after
Hey Bella, I want my presents too !

All the family is enjoying a great Christmas Lunch, but what about us ?

Yay, there's some turkey for us !

This is yummy, don't you think, Ollie ?

We hope you all had a great Christmas with yummy food, great presents and the love of all your family !

Have you been a good doggie ?

I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner, I'm looking forward to having a delicious meal with all the family and opening some lovely presents.
However I have been worried that I haven't been a good doggie all the time (for an example, see here under "my most emarassing moment"), but Dad told me that none of us can be perfect all the time, what matters is all the love that's in our heart and he says that I give plenty of love. What a relief !

I've been a good doggie too !

What about you my friends, have you been a good doggie ?
I'm sure you have, even if were a little bit naughty !

I asked my friends if they had been naughty, here's what they said :

Cinnabar :
"I am hiding in Mum's toys because I got in trouble : I was outside eating my lamb shank and got wet when it started to rain and then my paws were all wet and muddy and I walked all over Mum's clean floors. Mum told me she still loves me even when I get dirty and that she is going to get pop to make me a pair of shoes to keep my paws clean - he used to be a shoemaker before he retired."

George:
Dad smokes and had dropped the end of his fang on the carpet and it made a small hole mom bought a rug to cover it over, but I liked the smell of it and decided I'd make it bigger, Well the carpet still covers it! I have also chewed the remote for the TV, and Dads new Phone cover!

When the mouse is away, the dogs sleep in her bed.

Haven't you heard this proverb ? Well my parents often call my sister Amelie "petite souris" or little mouse, and one night she went dancing and stayed at her friends place, so we made ourselves very comfortable in her bed :

Ollie, come and join me !

This is so nice

Time to sleep...

What is your favorite place for sleeping ?

I love sleeping and finding new places to sleep, here are my latest ones :

This is what you might call a "dogwich" : take two dogs, put a comfy cushion in the middle and then enjoy !

This one is very much in season :

This one is my favorite, it's a box where my Mum puts her fabrics - it means she can't do any sewing when I'm sleeping though...

And what about you my friends, what is your favorite place for sleeping ?

We got a Christmas parcel !

Hey look, Ollie, we got a Christmas parcel !

Oh great, who is it from ?

It's from our friends Kendra, Daisy and Bella.

Look at all the presents, they smell nice, quick Dad, open them !

This is just wonderful : toys, treats and even chocolates for the humans !

Not only are these treats from The Puppy Patisserie delicious, they are also made from organic ingredients, a very healthy choice ! When our Dad and sister saw the yummy ingredients, they wanted to taste one ! If we have to share our presents, I hope it goes both ways because I heard there's going to be a yummy turkey for Christmas lunch !

Thank you so much Kendra, Bella and Daisy !

And thanks to Jazzi for organising this Christmas gift exchange.

Dad and I were featured in Coffee with a canine; we were asked all these interesting questions, but one of them was "what was Bella's most embarassing moment ?". I asked Dad if he really had to answer that question and he said yes... I won't say any more, but if you want to know what it was, you'll have to read it.

It's a jungle out there !

Hey Dad, don't you think it's time to mow the lawn ? It's a real jungle here !

Thank you Dad, that is much better !

Dogs are purveyors of wisdom, the wisdom of love

This is the opinion of  Jeffrey Mason, author of Dogs never lie about love, and we tend to agree, what do you think ? Here is an extract from his book (When asked for his permission to include this extract, Jeff replied : "Of course!  Delighted!  Totally agree with your dog-oriented philosophy!" )

"... there is some profound essence, something about being a dog, which corresponds to our notion of an inner soul, the core of our being that makes us most human ... this has to do with our ability to reach out and help a member of another species ... even when we do not stand to benefit from the other; in short, to love the other for its own sake. If any species on earth shares this miraculous ability, it is the dog, for the dog truly loves us ... beyond what we deserve, more indeed than we love ourselves.
Because the soul of a dog is love, the dog can love other animals, itself and us, with a completeness, a purity and an intensity, that we can admire and learn to emulate."

His new book "The dog who couldn't stop loving" is out now, we can't wait to get it !

If I pretend to be a Christmas tree, will Santa notice the difference ?

On the first Sunday of December, it is a family tradition that we put up the Christmas tree and decorate the house, so I thought I would help out.

It's very comfortable but it's even better with a few trimmings :

I think the house is ready for Santa Paws now :

Ollie, how exciting, this is going to be your first Christmas !

I'll pretend I'm a Christmas tree, so Santa will put the presents right next to me, do you think he'll notice the difference ?

Can I try too ?

May each day unfold for you like roses sparkling in the dew that open to the morning sun and bloom until the day is through. And may each passing moment bring a song as pure as angels sing, but may there be above all things a peace that only God can bring.

Take care my friends and have a great week !
