The story of our fuzzy slippers !

When we were children, we both loved dogs; Isabelle’s dogs was called Vania, Pascal’s dog was called Fifi.

When we had our children, we lived in France in an apartment but it wasn’t a good environment to have a dog. We missed having a dog in the family, but it was a good thing we didn’t have one because bringing it to Australia would have been very difficult. They don’t allow dogs unless they are put in quarantine and it would have been a traumatising experience for both the dog and us. Later when we found a house with a fenced backyard, it was time to think about having a dog. Isabelle had fallen in love with Westies a long time ago when she saw a commercial on TV for a famous brand of dog food.  Pascal looked forward to having a pair of fuzzy slippers like Fifi was.

When we saw Bella for the first time at her breeder’s house, it was love at first sight, but we had no idea how she would change our lives.

Bella is a very fussy eater so we had to find the best dog food for her. She also loves the pancakes we make ! She is very playful and affectionate and complains very loudly if we forget that it's time for her walk
One day, Isabella started trying some clothes that had been worn by our children when they were little on Bella. She found that they suited her and that she was patient and enjoyed all the attention she was getting when Pascal was taking photographs, not to mention the treats she was getting afterwards. The movie “Julie and Julia” gave us the idea to start this blog and the popularity of the blog led us to publishing a book “Paw Steps to Happiness”.

This book brought a lot of happiness around us, we gave some to the Australian Animal Protection Society, Starlight children’s foundation and some retirement houses.
After Bella’s book, we wrote a book on our country of birth "Dear France, Sweet country of my childhood". It was recently featured in French Provincial Magazine.

We are now preparing another book and we say thank you to Bella for giving us this wonderful opportunity . She is such a wonderful friend for us, we don’t mind that she isn’t our fuzzy slippers, we have found these instead !

Take care my friends and have a great week-end !

Snuggling under a blanket waiting for our birthdays and Easter

April is here Ollie, And do you know what it means ? I'll tell you :
  1. Our birthdays are coming up (14th and 17th) - that means having a party with our family and friends and lots of presents and yummy treats !
  2. Easter is coming up (1 week after our birthdays) - that means a lot of fun with rabbits and eggs.
  3. The days are getting cooler here in Melbourne, and what better place to be than snuggling up under a warm blanket together :

Sleep well my dear Ollie...

Hey, wake up Ollie, I can smell something yummy !

Our favourite crackers - a warm blanket and delicious crackers, pure happiness !

Jazzi is having a Bunny look alike contest, so I tried these rabbit ears.

But wait, do you really think I need rabbit ears, mine are big enough, aren't they ?

So tell me, who is the prettiest rabbit ?

My sister Anais went to Supanova, a pop culture expo and she dressed up as Rimmer, a character from a science-fiction comedy "Red Dwarf" that Dad, Matthew and Anais love (it's from the episode "Quarantined").
I don't mind how she dresses when she goes out, but I must say I was a little bit embarassed when she decided to take me on my walk like that - luckliy it was early in the morning and the streets were empty !

This is a really nice place to sleep and look out the window for Dad coming home...

Hurry up Dad, I'm waiting for you !

Our birthday party is coming up soon !
We'd love all of you to come along to our party - please send us a photo of you with a wig, a hat or a mask (They can be worn "virtually" if you don't like to have anything on you) and let's all have FUN !!!
Bella will be 3 on the 14th of April and Ollie will be 1 on the 17th of April, but the party will be on the 17th - we can't wait !

May you have enough happiness to keep you smiling
Enough hope to kep you happy
Enough success to keep you eager
Enough friends to give youu comfort
Enough enthusiasm to look forward
Enough determination to make each day better than yesterday
Take care my friends and have a great week!

Keeping warm and thinking about angels...

Dad says that Spring is around the corner, but it's still very cold here, so we find different ways of keeping warm.
1. Put a woolen hat on your head
Make sure it's looks nice with your clothes
2. Wear a warm coat
3. Snuggle with someone you love
"I love you my dear sister"

Anyone can be an angel, all you need to do is love.

May angels rest beside your door,
May you hear their voices sing.
May you feel their loving care for you,
May you hear their peace bells ring.
May angels always care for you and not let you trip and fall,
May they bear you up on angel's wings,
May they keep you standing tall.
May they whisper wisdom in your ear,
May they touch you when you need,
May they remove from you each trace of fear,
May they keep you from feeling greed.
May they fill you with their presence,
May they show you love untold,
May they always stand beside you and make you ever bold.
May they teach you what you need to know about life here and here-after.
May they fill you always with their love  and give you the gift of laughter

"Be an angel to someone else whenever you can, as a way of thanking God for the help your angel has given you." - Eileen Elias Freeman
"We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another." - Luciano de Crescenzo
