Smile, And The World Smiles With You

Don't you think smiles are beautiful ? Us doggies wag our tails to say "I like you, You make me happy. I am glad to see you", and humans smile to say the same thing.

My brother Matthew loves wrestling, and I love wrestlers - to be more precise, the plastic figurines that Matthew loves to play with, they are quite yummy to chew ! It got me in trouble, but Matthew was quick to forgive me because Mum went and bought him some more to replace the one I chewed.

I do have my own toys to play with, I don't like dog toys that much, Mum gave up on buying them at pet shops, my favourite toys are baby toys, they are great !

"Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing."
Mother Teresa

We all bring happiness to our loved ones, each one of us in our own special way because we are unique. If you want to share your own little way(s) of bringing happiness, click here to tell me about it (include a photo if you wish) and I will publish it on my blog and also in my book if you're OK with that.
Also, I'm still accepting photos on the theme of your current season and photos of my friends for my book. I'd love to hear from you.

I love my friends !

I love my friends and I wish I could see them more often (we had some much fun at the pajama party), so Mum found these soft toys to remind me of them. Look, there's Kira, Peggy, Booker Man, Santa, Martha, Twinkie, and Mercy ! I wish there was a soft toy for every one of my friends, but Mum said we'll have to ask soft toy makers to make Airedales, Dachshunds, Boxers and so many others....

Mum and Dad want to make my book bigger and add some photos of my friends, so send me one of your best photos, and you'll be in my book - it would be so good if I could have all my friends in my book !
Speaking of my book, I sent a copy to my good friends Derby and Julep for their birthday - have a look at their blog, they're having so much fun on their holidays, I wish I could be with them !

This weekend, I had my photo in the Herald-Sun newspaper, I couldn't believe it, it means many more people will know about my blog and I can bring laughter and happiness to more people and doggies !

This weekend my cousin Snoopette had to go to hospital for an eye and ear infection; now she's better but we'll keep praying for her. Her Mum (Aunty Mimi) looks after dogs at her home when people who go on holidays can't bring their dog with them and she looks after them like she was their Mum, she is so kind.

Your friends are your treasure, cherish them and care for them.

I love cooking !

I love watching (and especially smelling) Mum and Dad cook, and  I aways get to lick the bowls, it's yummy ! Yesterday it was my turn to try cooking, so Mum got me a hat and an apron.

I have everything I need, so I can mix the ingredients.

Mum, can you help me, I can't see anything !                                      That's better !

Now be patient, it hasn't finished cooking !                                         It's ready now !

This is yummy !

Make a nice dish for your loved ones, you don't have to be a chef to make something yummy. It's so much fun to try a new recipe or to make up your own recipe and then share it.

And now my Dad would like to share a recipe for escargots.

No, no this type of escargot,                                            that one !

Everyone in the house loves them and whenever anyone eats one, I look at them with my puppy eyes - they can't resist and give me a piece, but don't tell my vet, he wouldn't agree !

Ingredients :

Pastry

 2 eggs, completed with milk up to 300 ml

 1 teaspoon salt

 75 grams sugar

 75 grams margarine

 450 grams flour

 2 teaspoons yeast

Filling

 250 ml milk

 2 egg yolks

 75 grams sugar

 20 grams cornflour

 Vanilla

 120 grams sultanas soaked in water

Preparation

Put all the ingredients for the pastry in a bread machine and choose the dough program.

To prepare the filling, heat the milk and vanilla until it boils, then cover the saucepan.

Then, beat the sugar into the egg yolks in a large bowl and add the cornflour; pour the milk into the bowl while mixing with a whisk. Put this mixture in the saucepan, heat it up while whisking until it thickens.

When the dough is ready, shape it into a rectangle with a rolling pin; spread the filling and add the sultanas.

Pre-heat your oven to 175 degrees.

Roll the dough, cut in into pieces about 3 cm wide, put them on a tray covered with baking paper.

Mix an egg and brush it on the escargots.

Let them cook for 20 minutes.

Enjoy !

Don't forget to send me photo(s) of the season of the place where you live - it can be a flower, a landscape, a bird, whatever you love - you can be in the picture but you don't have to be. I will put them in the blog next week.

A beautiful downunder autumn

I love the smells of autumn (or fall if you prefer), and my parents love the beautiful colours; I particularly love being able to stay outside and enjoy the warm sun (In Summer, I'm not allowed to sun bake)

Here's some photos that my Dad took while we were walking together; he says that I'm a very good photographer's dog because I stay still when he wants to take a photo (and sometimes I need to be patient because he does take his time, but he says I take my time too when I'm sniffing !)

Can you send me some photos of the season where you live (most of you are in the northern hemisphere, so it will be Spring) and I'll post them on my blog in one week - I'm really looking forward to sharing the beauty of all the different places that you live...

Enjoy the place you live in at every season - "smell the roses", listen to the beautiful songs of the birds, look at all the beautiful things that are around you. All this is a gift that you can enjoy; share your appreciation with your loved ones, it will make them happy too.

Happy Mother's day

I love my Mum, and today we gave her some presents to thank her for being such a wonderful Mum.
Look at her beautiful hair - the hairdresser was one of our presents

I bought her a beautiful book "Two dogs and a garden", because Mum loves dogs (of course !) and beautiful gardens - have you seen Martha and Bailey's garden , it's magic and beautiful ! I also gave my Nannie a copy of my book and she loved it.

I hope all the mothers in the world had a good day today - best wishes to you all.

I'd like to give you a present too, it's a bookmark you can print and put in your favourite book, or give to someone you love.
Choose the one you prefer, right click and select "print picture", put some photo paper in your printer and/or laminate it and voila ! I hope you enjoy it.

The greatest happiness is making others happy - tell your loved ones that you love them, give them a present, pray for them, send them a card or a photo ... any day - you don't have to wait for a special occasion like Mother's day, every day is a day for giving your love.

Playing with my Nannie's toys !

"Nannie" is my Dad's Mum; she's very kind and loves dogs (remember when I introduced my aunt Belle ?).
When I went to see her I noticed she had some nice toys and I asked if I could borrow them; she told me how much fun she had with them when she was a little girl, and whenever she plays with them now she remembers all the happiness of her childhood. They're very precious to her, but she said that she'd be happy to lend them to me. There's a lovely doll and a little pram, but I think it's a bit crowded for the two of us.

This is better !

Now will someone please push me !

Chichi and Huahua don't take all the space, so I'll take them with me !

This pram is so comfortable, I feel like sleeping...

Thank you so much Nannie, I've had so much fun with your toys.

Discover treasures from the past and share their story with those that cherish them, it's like travelling to another place !

Bed Time !

The pajama party was a huge success thanks to all my friends who came and we had two more join in the fun !

"Look who's coming, it's Beckham and Lorenza !"

"We're so glad to be here, what a great party !"

But all good things must come to an end and then it was time to go to bed; I started with a nice warm milk :

Then I played with my toys :

I feel like a little baby, I'm "Baby Bella" ...

After all this excitment, it's going to be hard to go to sleep :

Sleep well my friends and see you all at the next party !

Celebration of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month

I read on Maggie and Mitch's blog that the ASPCA was celebrating Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month by running a photo competition to show the ways that pets, family and friends have gone orange for animals. I thought it was a great cause so I asked Mum to find me some orange clothes.

When Dad went to upload the photos, he found that he couldn't because we don't live in the USA, so he sent them to my good friends Maggie and Mitch  and they posted them for me. Thank you so much Maggie and Mitch, that was very kind of you and best of luck for the photos you've entered in the competition !

Keep sending some photos for the pajama party, even if you don't have pajamas, a T-shirt or night cap will do !

Yesterday Mum sold the first copy of my book "Follow Bella's pawsteps to happiness" and she gave me a yummy treat to celebrate - I hope I get one for every book, I think I'll have to ask for a commission ! The lady who bought it was really happy so I'm glad this book can bring some happiness, because that's why I made it (with a little help from Mum and Dad !)

Let's have a pajama party !

I'd love to have a pajama party; I have a few nice pajamas to wear, so it would be a hard choice.
Here's some new ones that Mum found for me :

If you have a pajama you'd like to wear to my pajama party, please send me a photo and I'll put it on the blog, that will be so much fun !

Thank you so much for all your votes; after Dad counted them, he thought it would be a good idea to put the top three photos at the top of the blog, and he asked me to share a secret with you - the surprises that those of you who sent me their address will receive (please be patient, they are still being made !) feature all three photos - isn't that an amazing coincidence ?

Lots of love from Bella.
